A YouTube star has turned heads at a Golden Globes after-party after wearing a revealing see-through gown with an exposed G-string.
Liza Koshy, an American social media personality, arrived at the prestigious Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles wearing a one-of-a-kind Morphew Atelier Victorian lace and antique beaded gown.
The social media star, who has more than 20 million Instagram followers, had walked the red carpet at the 2023 award show before heading to the star-studded kick on.
But Liza’s racy dress has divided social media, with some calling for an end of the “G-string dress” trend.
The exposed undies trend from the early noughties has been making a comeback of late, with celebrities in Australia – including Nadia Bartel and Lara Worthington – all embracing the bold look.
Miley Cyrus also rocked a black Gucci design with open sides that flaunted her branded G-string during her televised New Year’s Eve Party with Dolly Parton.
But despite the fact Liza’s dress was bang on trend, many declared the visible underwear ruined her stylish ensemble – especially at such a high-end event.
“I like the outfit but the thong [G-string] kinda ruins it for me,” one wrote on Twitter.
“The exposed underwear isn’t a good trend,” another offered.
As many others simply said the daring ensemble wasn’t for them. However, there were plenty who thought Liza’s dress was “gorgeous”.
“Liza Koshy looks fantastic,” one declared.
“Stunning,” another agreed.
The 26-year-old styled her statement gown with a vintage Dior necklace, according to reports.
She wore her wore her hair in a tight bun with her bangs swept to the side and added black drop earrings and two pairs of studs to complete her outfit.
